Default Forcing 2560x1600 On a 23" Monitor

I own a Asus 23" 1080p LCD monitor and I want to force 2560x1600 somehow, there has to be a way because i can run the Crysis time demo at that resolution no problem but nothing else and it works fine, what can i do?

im thinking that you can run the demo at that cause the screen is overscanning (not displaying the full image)
a graphics card can output any resolution - its only if the monitor supports it.
so the card can run the demo at whatever res

You weren't running at that resolution.

You can not force resolutions your monitor can not display.

EDIT: Above user explained the Crysis thing better.
