Default [SOLVED] Quick Question on a KVM switch, 2 Computers and Dual Monitors...

I recently got a new monitor for my wife and took her old one to finally run a dual monitor setup (extended display) for my Windows 7 comp. I have an old Dell laying around that I installed Ubuntu on but never really made much use out of it...so I've been thinking (which is never very good). I don't know if I can describe what I want to do very well, so I drew I quick pic to show what I'm wanting to accomplish.

My only question is, will a KVM switch cause problems while switching between Ubuntu and the extended desktop of Windows 7? I don't think so, but I just wanted to be sure before getting a switch.

Per my understanding, it shouldn't because when the switch is on the Ubuntu desktop, the windows machine will just think the display is switched off, so no it shouldn't present any problems

I don't see any issues in what your trying to do, if I were you I'd have the 22" monitor be the primary windows monitor for win7 and the 19" be primary for the linux distro.

Which I think you already have it setup like that but thats the way I would do it.

Yep, that's how I have it planned anyway. Just picked up a KVM switch, so I might get around to this within a day or so. I just need a cheapo keyboard and mouse.

Works perfect. Now I just need that keyboard and mouse.

I decided to clean up under my desk a little while I was down there.
First pic is before and second pic is after with Ubuntu running on the second monitor.

Thanks again!
