Default lcd tv gaming?

i was thinking of buying a 40 inch lcd tv.and i would like to run my pc on it to.would i be able to do this and run my games?

Yep, just make sure you meet the requirements
TV:
Acceptable latency
Port that will correspond with your graphics card (VGA, DVI, HDMI, S-Video, Composite)

Graphics Card:
Powerful to handle high resolutions
Port that will give your TV a good resolution, here is what I think the order of "goodness" is, best to worse: HDMI, Composite, DVI, VGA, S-Video

what kind of latency should i be lookin for.i run a xfx 4890 right now.i guess i could buy a lcd tv that has all of this right?

i went to my local pc store and one of the employees there said gaming on your TV isn't good because it burns the image in on your TV. is he right?? i have a 42" sony bravia and i'd sure love to max out crysis on that bad boy.

Image gets burnt in only on PROJECTION TV's.

I know this because on my 36'' LCD and my 56'' Plasma, ive had them running for hours on end for the past year or so, with a still-image. No burn in.

Well he has an LCD so it won't be an issue and besides that plasmas don't even really have that problem anymore. Burn in is only an issue if the same thing is on the screen for a long period of time, and even then it will go away.
