I have 2x 8800gtx and two monitors. I do NOT currently have SLI enabled because it presents issues when playing old games in Windows 7.
__________________My question to you is this.. Currently both monitors are plugged into one card, but I do not have SLI enabled. So how does the second card act? Also.. if I try to plug in my second monitor to the second card it is not detected whatsoever, even with SLI disabled. Is there anything that I can do? Or is everything a-okay?

I believe that second card isn't doing anything. I've never used SLI before so don't take my word for it. It probably is getting power, but only one card is processing anything.

Have you checked your GPU's with GPUZ to make sure they are both recognized? It could be a driver issue, or, your card might need to be reseated.... Somethings going on for Win7 to be acting up.

oh, and flip on SLI, find the game thats acting up, and after updating drivers, the compatability mode in windows 7 is absolutely GORGEOUS.
Got my financial businesses software working perfectly

In order to get the second video card to output video, try to plug in the monitor while your machine is off. When I ran dual cards, it never want to activate the second card's monitor until after a reboot.

Thanks for the quick responses.
__________________Yes both cards are seen with GPUZ and I have RIVA tuner active to set their fan speeds both to 100%. My drivers are 100% up to date, I'm not sure what you're advising me to do to fix the issue. When I play WC3 in SLI it looks horrible and I get a ton of screen lag. Without it however, it's fine. Compatibility mode?

both monitors plugged into one card, non sli = second gpu is idle, both in windows and during gaming.
__________________both monitors plugged into one card, in sli = second gpu is idle in windows, but sharing the workload during gaming. One screen plugged into each card in sli wont work, and one screen plugged into each card without sli SHOULD work, but its just a waste as one 8800gtx could render the windows desktop 20 times over without breaking a sweat. Basicly, both monitors in the first card, with or without sli is the normal setup
