When playing movies on my 24in asus they look terrible and are very pixelized. The movies or .avi files downloaded. Is there a way to upscale the movies or fix this?

What's the resolution of the movies?
__________________If you downloaded them, they're most likely SD at best. You really need 720p movies or better to get a crisp viewing on a decent sized PC LCD.

What movie player you using? I strongly recommend Media Player Classic Home Cinema. ( http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/ ) There is a visible difference when comparing it (depending on the codec...) to other movie players.

get The ultimate codec pack.
Just google it. Then prehaps check for....prehaps your GPU is artifacting? Distinct possiblity i know...but still. Check your temps. :P

Could also be poorly encoded movies.

I'd check reviews/comments on them and see what others say.
