so among the "lcds" the OLEDs have the shortest lifespan?

Uhh, got any proof of that?

Unless you're staring into something like a 50's vintage tube from 30cm, you couldn't be more wrong.

You're comparing a cheap OLED screen to a high priced LCD screen Surely you see how misinformed that is.

Uhhh......

Are you guys forgetting that OLED's have no backlights period? There is no backlight bleeding since there is no backlight.

As to the absolutely idiotic comment that OLED's are not going to last long because their 'organic' component, can you even define an organic compound?

The organic substrate used in an OLED is not going to last a short amount of time compared to a cathode-ray-tube. The few medium length organic compounds have been designed to be used in OLED technology for the past 40 frickin years!

This thread has an absolute ton of misinformation floating around.

I was trying to give the OP a baseline.

Comparing a standard LCD to a High End LCD (as he knows that difference) but that an OLED has a nice middle ground, even in PMP's.

According to this Rising^raven dude, apparently all of us who used computers in the 80's and 90's with CRTs should morph into the incredible hulk and strangle small children.

Actually I do have proof, watch this video.

EDIT: and yes, LCD's, plasmas and even OLDES emit electromagnetic waves (radiation), but not at the level of a CRT.
