Thanks. Corrected. I was going for more of hyperbole. Are there any others?

I'd buy one if the price was within 100$ of an equivalent 22-24in 1920x1200.

TBH, most of the talk about black levels is sales crap. How do I know? I sell them.
I'm perfectly happy watching a movie on my BenQ E2200. Terrible black levels, light bleeding etc etc. I bought it because it was cheap, and most of the time, (gaming, desktop) I'm not in a position to notice it. If I feel like I must do the movie justice, I'll play it on our Plasma. Now I ask you, what's better? 66cm CRT (TV, I've not seen a monitor that big) or 127cm Plasma? I know what I'd pick. Edit: apparently samsung did 30" CRTs... I shudder to think of the weight.

Some old (3-5 years) rear projection tvs can sometimes be pretty good. Sony SXRD (LCoS technology) televisions were definitely getting there. If only the FED project was still as active as it once was.

Rear projection TVs are still massive, and prone to burn in, though

Please don't even begin to compare rear projection.
Only the most expensive models could even hope to match colour output of CRT/Plasma. Not to mention the viewing angle was ~20 degrees, they burnt in really easily and they suffered from every problem that projectors have ever had. There's a reason old tech is old tech. Because something better came. I resent the fact that Blu-Ray won, but accept that it has. Please guys, accept that CRT is dead, except in VERY specialised environments.

What is this model of LED backlit LCD that is so good, it causes one to think that they have a whole new technology in their hands?
