Everybody saying get a 24" or get an LCD tv has NO idea what they are talking about. It is a completely different thing. There is practically no other monitor on the planet that can display a picture like a good 30".

I had a Dell 24" couple years back I liked it allot. I have heard rumors with input lag in the Dell and the Gateway XHD3000. So far I have not had any problems with mine you will like it for sure.. If you want to play games at 2560x1600 plan on a powerfull GPU cards SLI/CF or a big Ati X2 to push it at that resolution. I am running it with the 2 x 4890 cards seems to work at most of the games but not all.

Without much trouble.

People seem to grossly overestimate these monitors; they're not all that hard to push. My old 280 was a perfect match for this resolution. It kept up with all my games, including Crysis on high, without so much as breaking a sweat. The main issue with having so many pixels is that Anti-aliasing becomes hugely demanding on the GPU, and in a lot of games you won't be able to max out AA. Even the 4770 I'm using right now can manage my games, albeit with no AA.

You tell me though which would look better: 8x AA @ 1080p or 2x AA @ 2560x1600.

Bottom line, as long as you can deal with slightly more noticeable jaggies, your setup should have more than playable frame rates in everything.
