I was planning to get a 24" last christmas but due to money issues and stuff I decided to wait. I'm definitely get one for this Christmas, but since I have the money now I might get it now and even if I don't December 24th is around the corner so I need to decide what to buy.
I was planning on getting a T240 by Samsung but since monitors come out every while or so and I don't pay attention to the monitor buisness I'm clueless about other monitors. My question is, which 24" monitor should I get? It must be 16:10 and approx. the same price as the T240

I have a T240HD and i love it. I think it is just the t240 but with a TV tuner built in. The picture is awesome with great color and i have not found any dead pixels. (which is saying something when there are 2,304,000 of them. ;-)
the first one i bought was defective though, but the store i bought it from took it back and gave me one that worked with no hassle. have been using it for over a year now.

I was under the impression that the T240 wasn't being made anymore. Big box stores aren't carrying them anymore anyway. Honestly, 16:10 is dying out in favor of 16:9 except on professional level monitors, so you might want to consider settling for 1920x1080. The 23" Samsung LED is pretty sharp looking, but it lacks VESA mounts which is a huge turn off for me. Honestly, if you're going with a 24" you should spring for something a little pricier, you'll notice the difference in quality a lot more on a screen that size.

by the way the T260 is $30 more than the T240, should I go with that? it's the same res though so won't it be a bit stretched?

i would have rather had that one. 1920x1200 will look fine stretched to 26". i don't think you would notice it untill you got up past 30". keep in mind how your desk is setup though. if you sit fairly close to the screen i would not get the 26" version because of the angle you would have between the edges of the screen, but if you have a good 3-4 feet to the screen def get the 26" because it will make text easier to read and just in general be bigger and better. :-)

30" = 2560x1600 I would stick to those sizes/resolutions if you want the best quality possible. However 1920x1200 still looks good on my 30". I'd still go with the T240.

With 4 bulbs, this is one of the sexiest, fairly inexpensive monitors out there. (In my opinion)
