Would probably be slightly better since the TV im sure is 720p which is a lower resolution than your 19" (1440X900)

I think you should go with a monitor that comes with cable channel. Most of monitors usally have higher contast than tvs.

Most of the time, your Monitor will have a better resolution than the TV.
My 19" had a resolution of 1440x900, but my 32" Samsung only has a resolution up to 720P which via VGA is actually 1366x768 max. Your games will look fine. I play all my games at 1360x768 on my 32" Samsung and it is huge and looks amazing and since it's actually a lower resolution, it's even easier to run everything as maximum settings. I'm about 99% positive that the TV has the same resolution of mine, so you will be running a lower resolution by a little bit, but I love it because of the size.

First of all, please get the model numbers of both monitor and TV, we cant really help unless we have this kind of infromation.
Also, on the monitor, how much frames per seond do you get? I'm running 9800gt on 22" dell 1080p, and I get over 100fps in l4d, 30 crysis (medium-high settings) and half life 2 series easily 60-80 fps; all at 1080p. Seeing that you have a better graphic card, it should actually handle better than mine even on that bigger screen. Why not give it a try if you got it?
