Default Monitor specs say up to 75hz but CCC only showing 60hz?

I bought my girlfriend an ASUS VK246H monitor and installed a new video card on her system for it as well. When I loan up CCC it only allows 60hz as the refresh rate however on Newegg.com where I bought it, it shows up to 75hz? Any idea what's going on? Also the specs for the monitor mention the Contrast Ratio like this "1000:1 (ASCR 20000:1)". What is the first number and what's the ASCR? Thanks.

Certain games will lock you at 60Hz, but some games have a setting where you can enable/disable the feature. Called V-Sync.

No that's not what I'm talking about. When I'm on my desktop going to desktop display settings in the ATI Control Panel it only lists 60hz as an option for the refresh rate.

99% of all LCD panels have a refresh rate of 60Hz so that's all the drivers are going to show you. It's a limitation of the technology not the LCD panel.

V-Sync doesn't lock you at 60Hz, it locks you at your monitor's vertical refresh rate... which would be 75Hz.

No, that's not it. I have a 19 incher that works at 75Hz no problem.
