Yea, in the same debate as you mate, although I think I will bite the bullet and save up for a 16:10.

Yea, that is where the "awkward" feeling comes from.... It don't seem right for it to be that short. In my case, I am going to go a bit smaller, going to snipe out an ideal 22" 16:10 monitor.

I like my 16:10 as well. I think I will get me another one because the CRT now looks so blurry compared to the W1942TQ

Obviously you'd like 16:10 but they are almost twice the price. For the price, 16:9 monitors are the best.

I prefer 16:9 once you get into 24" monitors. Then the shortness of it actually becomes an advantage in my book.

19-22" I like the 16:10

and if I have to deal with a 15" or 17" I want it to be 4:3. I especially hate the looks of those wide screen laptops.

16:10 has the best usable space for general work. whereas 16:9 is marginally better for watching films
(23-24 inches that is)

16:9 = sweet spot for me especially with a 37" 1080p LCD HDTV. You have a huge screen to work with as well as not too high of a resolution to handle great games. I thought it would be weird to switch to widescreen since I've always had a 4:3 monitor while watching movies/video on my 4:3 SDTV through S-Video. However, you do get used to it...probably not as much as me though (I don't mind stretching a 4:3 videos/games on a 16:9 monitor).

I like the classic 4:3 the best but you can barely find them anymore.

I have a 15" 4:3 LCD for my old pc, and a 23" 16:9 on my main, looks like a lot of people prefer 16:10 over the 16:9. Is there that big of a difference? I've been looking at new monitors for a while and Im pretty dead set on getting that 28" Hans G for $299. it's 16:10 too
