Default cannot get native res! help!!!

i was playing some fallout 3 and it crashed (like it usually seems to do after a while.) and completly crashed windows. i rebooted and when i came back i was greeted to 640x480 and when i went into the display properties to change it back, my monitors native res of 1600x900 wasnt there!!!! so now im stuck using 1440x900

is there a way i can get all the previous resoultions back

edit: ive tried system restore and reinstalling the monitors drivers and it didnt do anything

Then although unusual, try reinstalling your monitor through the device manager.

If I remember right, somewhere in xp's resolution settings there's an option that enables you to "list all modes". Your 1600x900 ain't there either?

Try plugging your monitor into the other output of the graphics card. It may sound silly, but try it.

powerstrip might be able to force your resolution back in there ...
But that's kind of a dirty solution

Maybe roll back to a previous restore point if you have a fairly recent one ...
