Default Win 7 Media Center resolution issue...

OK, I'm really not sure how to explain it, but I'll try, and use some pics to help.

Both my rigs have Win 7 Ultimate. The laptop has 32 bit, and the desktop has 64 bit. When I was watching Transformers 2 on my desktop (1680x1050), I noticed when I had Media Center set to the 3rd zoom setting (the one I use for TV and seems to work fine for other movies), it would crop the movie, cutting off some on the left and right. However, when I watched the exact same movie on my laptop (1280x800), the 3rd zoom setting showed the movie fine.

Pics:

Now if you notice, Zoom 1 shows even more black on the top and bottom, but I believe this is due to it not being stretched; however, it shows the sides of the movie fine on both the laptop and desktop.

With zoom 3, it cuts the sides off AND has the extra black at the top and bottom but ONLY on the desktop. Now I assume that both my desktop and laptop resolutions are the same aspect ratio because if I am making a background image in paint shop pro at 1680x1050 resolution, and resize it, maintaining the aspect ratio, when I put 1280 as the width, it automatically puts 800 as the height.

So why is it that my desktop display does this? The only way I can get it to play right on my desktop is to go into Media Center and change the resolution to 1600x1200. I prefer to watch my stuff in my native res, so this bums me a bit, so I was wondering if anyone had/has a similar issue, and if they have a solution or anything.

Thanks.
