I just upgraded my operating system to Windows 7 (See PC specs below) and I was going to watch another one of my high definition movies. Some of them are 720p and others are 1080p. Regardless, when I view them, there appears to be mild but highly irritating pixelation. The only reason it bothers me so much is because it wasn't like this before! I tried updating the drivers on my Radeon HD 4870 but nothing was resolved.
__________________I even played with several of the settings in my VLC media player and nothing would rectify this issue. It's highly annoying and seems to happen only when I set it to full screen, despite the fact that it did not do this before when I had set it to full screen (Usually with an aspect ratio of 16:9 or 16:10) Help would be greatly appreciated to rid me of this annoyance.

Does this only happen in videos that have a resolution of 720 and above? Does it happen with other applications, such as Windows Media Player or Quicktime?

How about removing all codec packs and installing just KMPlayer and see if the problem persists.Be sure to restart the PC after removing any codec packs.

It's VLC. The renderer you're using is using point resizing which makes tiny blocks.
Find the video renderer setting and try all of them until you find one where black is not gray and there's no pixelation. There should be one. What's the resolution of your monitor? And finally, where's the screenshot? :P

I cannot find this "renderer" you speak of. Resolution = 1920x1080 http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d7...a/PIXELGAY.png EDIT: You can't see it very well in that image but it's there. Like I said, it's small but amazingly annoying. It should be smooth like it used to be.

Nice! Resident Evil CG Movie It was pretty cool ![]() I also get the same problems, but I was able to fix it by changing the Video Render to DirectX9, although that was done in Media Player Classic Home Cinema.

You can just not use VLC. Post a full-size screenshot.
The video renderer is now called Output under the Video tab.

Just upgrade to CCCP + MPC instead of fiddling around with a subpar player.
