I'm debating on whether to buy a 32" 1080p LG TV or a 26" 720p LG TV. I'm sitting about 5-6 feet away.
Will I notice the improved quality at this size and distance?

For a monitor or a tv? For a monitor? Absolutely...higher resolution is "so much more room for activities."
For a tv...it's iffy. I'd never buy anything less than 1080p if it's over 30" given prices now a days. Also, yay for the mac in your sig...I'm writing this from my 2 hour old 27" iMac.

Congrats
Great machines and OS!This is for a PS3 only. Mainly games but I do watch a Blu Ray once or twice a week. The two TVs are both LG. The 1080p 32" is $139 more expensive than the 26" 720p one so it's not a very close price. I wish I had them side by side to compare

It honestly depends. If you are JUST using this as a TV for TV use and gaming (consoles), then 720p would be just fine up to around 36-40" or so. If you plan to hook a computer up to it though...go 1080p DEFINITELY.

ahh its hard to say i feel that around 30-40 inches its debatable on is it noticeable but once you get past 40 inches 1080 is a must i would say. But hmm if you can go for 1080p images will always be looking their best and you knowing it is worth it. =]
