Hi,
__________________I was wondering what I can use as ground when attempting to volt mod my ASUS mobo. My case is all aluminum http://www.lian-li.com/Product/Chass..._PC-60plus.htm. If a wire is to be grounded, shouldn't that mean the wire has to be connected to something non conductive or infinite resistance? Electricity is not my forte, thanks for any advice.

im pretty sure you still need the ground for this since your using a variable resister and it has to be grounded at one point
__________________no you want something conductive, if it wasnt then there would be no ground there for no cercuit, you can ground it to your case or whereever i think you can even use one of the ground wires from a psu power connecter (4pin molex) i have mine grounded to one of the screws in my case

another thing try and keep the wires as short as possible and use one of those small pots like the little blue ones with the tiny screw adjustment, doing this will ensure that your voltage doesnt fluctuate that much other wise you can get like me a fluctuating vcore of .05 which kind of sucks

Use a light gauge wire, and ground it to the closest point of chassis metal you can.
