Please note: I am making a psuedo-educated stab at this.

Would a voltmeter do the trick? RadioShack has inexpensive models. If you know someone has a Fluke, and will lend it to you, that ought to have a setting to provide the info that you nee.

Hope this helps... Good Luck!

Yeah a voltmeter will work if it has resistance settings. Sone pots have stops but it sounds like this one doesn't.

Get a multimeter and check out vrmods for the place to test it

put the black line on the bottom of the case and the red line on the card where it should be tested

can you post a pick of the type that it is, the bigger ones have a stop in either direction and usually only turn about 1 revolution or so, the small (usually blue) ones that i would recommend since they have tighter tolerences range from 15 to 30 revolutions if i remember right and i dont think they have a stop although i could be mistaken

and usually clockwise is less resistance and counterclockwise is more resistance, my old asus the volts would go higher when you turned it clock wise

although my knowledge is limited i would try and look it up a little more or get another opinion, i dont want to fry your equipment

allthough when i started my mobo the first time i was at 1.87vcore in bios and turned it down promtly

by the way on asus boards anything above 1.8 and its in red in bios

Ok I did some research and the type i have is a 25 CW turnkey. Therefore to set max resitance the potentiometer is turned counter clockwise 25 turns. This will set the #1 wiper to short and allow it to be removed and set the voltage at a min. That way when I set my northbridge at a min it will be at 1.8 and when its cranked to its max of 1.65 it will be at 2.1 volts. Now the hard part...soldering Shutting down now for the mod.

Like suggested, a potentiometer is best calibrated with a Multimeter (Voltmeters don't usually measure Resistance 'Ohms').
