Set the resistance of the VR to 28K (or change accordingly depending on the severity of the vdroop).

I performed this mod on my old P4P800SE and you have to be VERY careful because the soldering points are tiny!

If you can't solder, spend a good few weeks practicing before trying this.
For those who know, that picture tells everything.
You need:
22 to 26 AWG solid-core wire
Variable resistor (potentiometer) capable of 28kohms of resistance
Soldering iron
Rosin core solder

Once you have those, and are confident in your soldering ability, solder the pot to the points noted in the picture.

I wouldn't recommend you attempt this vdroop mod unless you have prior experience soldering and a basic understanding of electronics.

But here is what you need:
- Low Wattage Soldering Iron with Solder
- A VR that can be set to your desired resistance: (28K-35K)
- Multimeter to help you set the resistance of your VR
- Two small pieces of wire to connect the soldering points to the VR

First, use the multimeter to set the resistance of the VR to 28K (make sure the multimeter is measuring Resistance (Ohms)). You are going to have to turn the top of the VR using a flat screwdriver to change resistance.
Solder the two wires to the VR.
Solder the wires as shown in the pic provided earlier.

pretty simple really...other than the actual connections

You need a 1mil tip for a solder iron..a 30k VR [radioshack] and an extra IDE cable.

Rip off some of the IDE wires [just two] to a 'good' length..solder one end of ea. to the VR [using either outer leg and the middle leg]..then solder the other ends to the mobo. When you connections are cool, dab some superglue over them to help secure the connections..

Then using a MM, measure and set the resistance on the VR to the maximum for that VR. Turn on mobo..and 'tune' voltage in BIOS, using a MM to measure. When your voltages are set the way you need...then re-boot and load Window$!
