Mine is 1.416v at idle, 1.424v at load (1.425v set). Perfectly acceptable.

If you have an increase in vcore, you might have reduced the resistance too much, You can fix this by rubbing some lead off with your finger.

You should be able to drop the vcore a couple of notches now.

Alright guys lets get down to it. I attempted the vdroop mod: Oh noes! If i remember correctly my vcore was set at 1.35 in bios, and it was 1.32 in CPU-Z. Ok, so i turned my computer off and drew a line on the resistor(on the right side) and it upped my voltage in CPU-Z to 1.328. I shut down my computer again and made another line and rebooted. This time it hit 1.33 idle/and 1.34 load! Yay? Well i was taking screens for all of you to see, and my computer froze. Doh? At the moment my motherboard wont even POST. I tried clearing the CMOS by jumper and by removing the battery. The motherboard turns on and everything powers up, it just doesn't POST. Bad battery or did i fry my motherboard guys?

At my mom's house for the weekend, that's how i am able to write on the forums :P

Wow I feel sorry for you guys. Kinda makes me glad I bought a DFI. The only downer about my board is that it's not a x38 but it's all cool because I doubt I'll ever go sli.

I just did the volt mod 2 days ago, and it helped.
Before:
BIOS - 1.44
Windows (idle)- 1.437
Load - 1.436

AFTER:
BIOS - 1.4
Windows (idle) - 1.39
Load - 1.4

Thanks guys for passing the word. I'm almost sure this is what was holding me to 3.5Ghz, I'm getting my Artic Freezer Pro today, so after I throw that in, we'll see if the V-core mod helped.
Again, Thanks for passing the word along!

have you tried rubbing the mod off with an eraser? I'd think your mobo's toast. I'm surprised nobody listed "risk of damage" and "voiding of warranty" when someone asked for the pros and cons, cos those are 2 obvious cons (although lots of people rub off their mistake and try to get it repaired/replaced on warranty or RMA the board [lots of online stores don't follow the RMA procedure and the next poor sap to get their board will find it DOA]).

I did a pencil mod for my mobo too. I have my vocre at 1.487 in BIOS but on boot it says 1.50v. I run it 24/7 at full CPU load and the vcore drops to 1.49v. I think that's fine? Been running like that for months now. If it's a little over, don't think it'd be a problem.
