I recall an excellent thread I think either in here or the general volt mods on the striker extreme mobo. Of course OCN search = fail. If anyone has the thread or another guide, it'd be greatly appreciated if you'd share.
Also, questions.... How exactly do I benefit from the volt mod? I know it helps voltages in overclocking but is that all? And, I know certain pencils are better then others when it comes to volt mods but does it matter on the striker if I were... to use like a #2 pencil?

Answer 3: What is the best pencil for mod? Answer 1: Voltmod for Striker Answer 2: Basically when you volt mod the vCore you reduce the amount of vDroop on the board. For instance if I have my voltage set in BIOS to 1.5v, the idle voltage is 1.49v(vDrop) and under load 1.46v(vDroop). That means when I try to run Orthos to check stablility my CPU is only getting 1.46v to the core and that is the voltage my system is stable at. By doing the mod your voltage at load will be closer to the voltage set in the BIOS which means you can achieve higher OC at the same voltage in BIOS. Check out VR-Zone too. They seem to focus a lot on voltmods, and most of the info you find will originates from that sight.

I have not done the mod personally, but from what the article says I would only do the resistor labeled vDroop.
