HOLY CRAP. I couldn't OC if my life depended on it, because my Vcore was always up and down (I could handle the roughly .04 difference between BIOS and actual). Before I tried this mod, my BIOS was set for 3.2500v, and I was getting 2.8000v in CPUZ and OCCT. Now, I set my BIOS to 3.1250v and CPUZ 'n OCCT read 2.8000v again. I'm not complaining, or super-impressed with the .1250v I got back, but instead with how stable the Vcore is now! Just look at my before and after OCCT Vcore results were on short times:

Before:

After:

Thanks a ton!

EDIT: Actually, it is 3.0000v in my BIOS, so a .0250 increase! Now I am super-impressed!

Default This Mod is insane!! I have almost Zero Vdroop!!!

I have a Q9450 OCed to 3.2ghz. I run it at 1.300V in the bios.

Now, normally with CPU-Z, it reads 1.28V in idle and it fluctuates between 1.264-1.28 during prime95 or orthos.

Using a NO.2 pencil, I did the penicil mod as showen in this thread and now my vdroop is almost gone.

I still run 1.300V in the bios, but now at IDle it's 1.299V and 1.299V under full load for hours without any fluctuations!!!!! My Vdroop is only .001V!!!

I couldn't be happier!!!

hey there just a quick question on the pencil mod for this mobo,

are you shading the resistors themselves or are you supposed to shade a line across the top to join the tops of both resistors??

Just shade the resistors themselves. Try not to get it anywhere else except the top of each resistor.

Good Luck..
