I am going to do the pencil mod on my P5N-D motherboard as shown here http://www.overclock.net/motherboard...encil-mod.html
I was just wondering if you used a regular drawing pencil to do so? Thanks

A B pencil is softer than a HB, i'd recommend trying to find a better one, most dollar stores would have them for really cheap, or if you know anything into drawing / art class if you go to school or something.
H is hardest --> HB is in the middle --> B is softest Numbers indicate how soft/hard it is. (5B is softer than a 2B which is softer than a HB which is softer than a 5H etc)

Would a HB still work until I could get a softer pencil?

I kind of figured but decided I'd rather explain than confuse in-case you didn't know. HB should work, but I'm not sure if it would take more/less strokes to get the desired resistance. You can always just clean it off and restart if you do too much.
