Exclamation How many volts?

I have myold rigs pentiunm D 925 running at 3.3GHz, 300Mhz faster then its stock. I still havent touched the voltage? I was wondering how much i need to increase it when i preced to overclock more? It thereliek a rule that says every 100mhz i need to increase voltage by 0.1V or something? I have a zanman 9700 and im running at 35 idle (in case and 24 for cpu in idle. Im running windows Vista SP1?

The board is a EP45-UD3R board.

Thanks for it in advance.

Just boost the voltage to the highest that you are comfortable with, and max your OC from there.

There are diminishing returns on voltages too, so there is no such ratio

There is no rule. At first you will be able to move a large amount without increasing the vcore. Then you will need to give it a little bump and overclock some more. Eventually you will reach the point where you need a lot of vcore to increase the speed a little bit.

As for max voltage, if you don't care about the chip, give it as much as you want. I'd personally try to burn the chip. I don't think that 1.5-1.6v would do any harm, but I'd be willing to try 1.8v if I could.

Well, when i try it only allows me to go to 1.4v? Is this because the PSU is only 460W?

hey i got my pd925 running at 4.5ghz right now! here is my OC: http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/...ml#post6625931

i set the vcore in the BIOS to about 1.4375V. cpuz gives me 1.37v at idle and 1.31-1.32v under full load.

i have horrible vdroop which im trying to find a mod/fix for with my board........it seems no one has done any vdroop mods to this board yet that i know of....im still searching..

if you bios allows you to increase the voltage passed 1.4v then go for it.....
