Please provide me with your Last.FM account by posting it in his thread.

Last.FM Program (PC)



The picture above is Last'FM's layout for the PC version of the their program. As you can see above, I am playing the song Death Cab for Cutie - The Sound of Settling. While playing a song and opening up the scrobbling program, you are able to access many features of the program that is associated with your account. For example, if you are logged onto your account on the program and you press "Love" for the song you are listening to, that song will be updated to the "Love" list on your site.

The scrobbling program also tells you a brief biography of the group/artist. Under the biography section section is the Tags list, which lists the genre of the group/artist. If you are interested in groups/artist that sounds similiar to what you are playing, you can find a list of them at the Simliar artists section. Finally, at the very bottom is a list of the Top Listeners scrobbled by Last.FM for that specific group/artist.

What is Last.FM?

Using a music recommendation system known as "Audioscrobbler", Last.fm builds a detailed profile of each user's musical taste by recording details of all the songs the user listens to, either on the streamed radio stations or on the user's computer or portable music device. This information is transferred to Last.fm's database ("scrobbled") via a plugin installed into the user's music player. The profile data is displayed on a personal web page. The site offers numerous social networking features and can recommend and play artists similar to the user's favourites.

Users can create custom radio stations and playlists from any of the audio tracks in Last.fm's music library, and are able to listen to some individual tracks on demand, or download tracks if the rightsholder has previously authorised it. Registration is required to acquire a profile but is not necessary to view any part of the site or to listen to radio stations.
