Default Need help choosing wireless hardware.

Ok I am planning on making my PC wireless, because I move it around alot. But the stupid ethernet cable gets in the way all the time.
I am currently positioned in the basement, and would more than likely move it around down here.

First what would be a good wireless adapter for my PC so I can move it freely around the house?
Second what is a good wireless sender/reciever so I can acess the internet?
Third, do you think that it is a good idea to do this? I heard gaming was real laggy with wireless. What do you think?

Get a Linksys or a Netgear wireless router, anything 54mbs or over. I have Pre-n at 108mbs it isn't bad, great range.

Gaming is not bad at all on wireless. I have dsl (1.5mbs down) and I rarely lag, it is split between 3 people mind you. My ping in cs is about 50-70.

I have the Belkin pre-n.. I don't like belkin any more. This is the 2nd wireless router that drops this frequently. But it might be my house or something else... any way links for my stuff router and desktop card.

It's really just going out and finding a router that is reviewed well. The one I have is rated the highest on cnet folled by the rangemax by netgear which my aunt has and hasn't complained about it. But when I am on the internet with out my family on the network it works perfectly. They are comming out with really fast routers, I saw a couple of 230-300mbs routers. Thats crazy fast if you ask me. And technically isn't anything over 100mbs better than regular ethernet? So The choice is up to you, you probably can't go wrong with anything you pick. Just read the reviews and stick to good brands and you'll be alright.

Go with Linksys... nothing else because it's based on Cisco hw. IMHO I would wait until the "N" stuff comes out because they don't even know if all this pre-N stuff will be spec.

(preacher man) Linksys SRX solution...awesome. 108Mb/sec ANYWHERE in the house. A little pricey...but if you really want to go wireless, SRX technology rocks. They have SRX routers, firewalls, PCI, and laptop PCMCIA cards. Everything you need.
