Ok my DFI LanParty board has 2 network connections (NVIDIA and MARVELL). My Marvell connection is able to connect to my ISP (Surewest Fiber) but the NVIDIA one cannot. The difference between the two is that Marvell properties show that ADDRESS TYPE: Assigned by DHCP but the NVIDIA shows: Automatic Private Address.
The only reason I am even looking at this is because lately I have only been able to surf for a few minutes, then I lose my connection. The only way to get it back is to go to the cmd box and go through the process of ipconfig/all, ipconfig/release, ipconfig/renew. after doing this I am able to browse again but only for a limited amount of time. My ISP support staff suck so any help you can provide to me would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using XP? When you are looking at the properties of that network card are you looking at the correct tab there are two general and alternate configuration. You should be looking at the general tab.

I am looking comparably at both network cards. I am using XP. I open Network Connections, double click on the Marvell or Nvidia, then click on "Support". Of course if the Cat5 line is not plugged in, I get a different box to open up. What I want is to be able to change the NVIDIA controller to say Address Type: Assigned by DHCP in stead of Automatic Private Address.

Let me see if I can remember where you go for this...
__________________Control Panel>Network Connections Find the NVIDIA controller icon, right click it and select properties. In that little scroll box, find TCP/IP settings, highlight it and click properties. You should check off "Obain IP Address Automatically." If it's already checked, we'll think of something else to try.

BTW just fyi .. you can right click the network connections in either control panel or on the sys tray at the bottom right and got to repair .. that does the same thing as ipconfig/release and renew .. thought that could save you some time
