ipconfig in XP is messin up!!
I'm trying to get my ip address by typing "ipconfig" in the command line. the screen pops up afterward, but it disappears almost immediately. I've even reinstalled Windows(for other reasons) and it still does it
 any clues to what it is?

Try, Start>Run> Type in CMD hit enter then type in ipconfig
__________________or you can try typing "cmd /k ipconfig & pause" in the run window
