Default Internet Connection

I would like to know how to fix the problem where even though i am connected to my router but sometimes i just can't get to the internet and i would need to restart the router. Is this related to the dhcp lease time or what? I currently using pppoe connection and i have set the pppoe keep alive option to enable so the router shouldn't be disconnected to the internet. One more thing is that sometimes one of my computer would be disconnect from the internet, but my other computer is fine so i think it has to do with the dhcp lease time which expire my ip address making it not able to connect. So please help me.

Try flashing a newer bios to the router, then hold that button on the back of the router than resets it for like 5 seconds until you see it reset. Then go back and set up your settings again.

Do not use DHCP. Many routers have problems with it. Set up ip and gateway ip yourself in TCP/IP settings. If you need help finding that setting, post again.

There should be an option in the router configuration that shows the DHCP release and renew times. Its probably set to around 180 minutes (probably when you are experiencing the disconnect). Change that number to 9999 or just set a static external IP on all your devices connected to that router.
