Hello All:
I've had a wireless network in my home for quite some time now and the issue is that last night when I installed xp and wifi ap solo on one of the machines I got an IP conflict and then lost my internet connection. It seems that two computers in my home now cannot connect to the internet (the machine I was working on and one of the laptops). I am using absolutely no security (WAP, etc. all off) and the puzzling thing is that both systems show strong connection to the wireless router. Thanks in advance.

go into the router (type in the IP address they tell you to use) and manually set the IP address's for the router to use, also set that laptop's IP manually.
No idea if this will work, but just a guess.

Check the IP range allowed on your router, IP conflict is due to 2 or more computers trying to use the same IP address. You can manually set up the IP address or use DHCP which will allow the router to automaticly assign your IP address

When I type my router's address into IE I get a wrong address message. Also, how would I go about setting the lappy's adress manually? Thanks.

generally you should type 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1 to log into your router.
In the settings of the router it will most likely be labled pretty easily. Not sure in which menu but it should just be labled as use dhcp (dynamic host configuration protocol i think)

your hooked in via the ethernet cable right? Or you can try via the USB port and cable that came with the router.
