Default Comcast internet questions

I might get the 6mbps internet from comcast. I want to know how comcast is with torrents and P2P. I have earthlink DSL right now and I have had absolutely no problems with downloading/uploading torrents and using P2P.

So does comcast limit anything or watch what kind of torrents you download or anything of the sort?

I download torrents with comcast all the time. Works well for me, and I haven't received any letters. I would go with earthlink cable though, then you'll be able to keep your e-mail addresses and such, and it's about the same speed anyway. Earthlink doesn't bother you with crap about downloading stuff.

But I'm getting comcast TV cable, so if I get internet from them too I get a $10/month discount and faster speed.

Well let's put it this way.

No, not that i am aware of. No problems here.

DSL support: Line issues and such, not covered under your phone companies wire pro insurance. Another words if you have line issues. You flip the bill for the DSL company to come check and or replace your lines with in the home.

Comcast support: All lines modems covered by Comcast at no extra charge to you for diag. or replacement of lines or components.

So faster product with support, my option is Comcast.

Comcast cable is great, I have their 8mbps package. No problem with torrents or connections.

So far i only received 1 infringement letter from comcast and I have downloaded about i don't know between 2 - 5 tb of torrents in the last 2 years. Comcast is really chill about that stuff just get PeerGuardian and you won't have any problems at all.

I've got 8mbps too, for some reason though, I always get 2mbps up. Either way, no little comcast letter is going to make me stop downloading torrents. I only download stuff when I need to, and I always already have a copy of it anyway.

I have comcast but I'm in an apartment complex, so at times it crawls, but it isn't terrible. I loose collection atleast once a month though, only for a few hours though.

My downlaod speeds are meh, I had optimum at my parents house and it was fantastic.

As far as p2p goes I haven't gotten any letters yet, however the cable is in my rooamtes name. He hasn't mentioned anything. With optimum my dad got one letter with like 4 or 5 things on it a few years ago. That's all I got though.

Comcast has a bonus called PowerBoost although it varies if its in your area or not, it pretty much doubles your download speeds temporarily if you're downloading a large file.

They have great speed/reliability IMO I'd go for Comcast
