ive seen this question time and time again and its a broad question at that. im looking to buy a new wifi card for my laptop but im not sure where to start. price is a factor id like to not spend too much lets keep it under $100
__________________on my notebook i have USB, firewire though ive never seen a wifi card use that and 2 others i think they are called "card bus" & "express card"? anyway must also have coax connector for external antenna. when the question is asked referring to "best" what aspects are we looking at? i mean range of course but what else? thanks

You need to fix your title to adapter and not adapted.
__________________Back on topic: You will want one that goes into the card slot on your notebook, they are usually better than usb and you can keep usb ports open.

Well, You will probably want to go with a PCI-MIA, They generally are better than usb. Sprint has a good choice, I recommend you look at them.
