I just grab my handy glock 23 and walk to the car. You yard is still an extension of your home. If you are unsure of what is going on, stop, don't go, tell an adult.

wardriving huh?

well unless they have an algorithm for that type of router (which isn't likely) it's gonna be hard to beak your pass code unless its something simple. but generally bruteforcing takes longer than 10min. Not to mention the purpose of wardriving is to find wireless networks that leave the default settings, for a quick in and out.

it could be possible since you did leave the default login name they could have cracked your pw. i can tell you that if your pw is a few words ted togeather with some numbers in there its not that safe. Both John the Ripper and PaswordPro are vey capable programs that could easily crack it. There are numerous others to that are geared towards the harder passwords too.

what i would do is change your login info. this means BOTH your login name and password. and also change your WPA key, b/c if they got into your router then your WPA encryption is worthless. i reccomend using special characters in your passwords along with letters and numbers. try to stay away from dictionary words.

if your afraid that they installed a backdoor trojan go to the command line and do a "netstat -b" i think its -b, its either -b or -o. but basically this will tell you what program on your computer is connected to the internet. it will tell you the name of the app and i believe where it is connected to ( in the form of an ip address).

if you need help with anything else let me know.

netstat or logging on to the router will tell you that. No need for some extra-system-performance gifted to a third party app. Check the router logs... check yer router security, and if yer machine is near to the router then SCREW wireless and go wired

And if yer router aint configured properly... then that is no back-door... More like a front-door-wide-open
