if you are using DSL cable with a modem look behind the modem there should be a small button that says reset keep it down for 10 seconds and then wait for the modem to restart.if not try go on run type cmd and in the new windows type ipconfig /release and then after everything is on 0 type ipconfig /renew
hope this will help

Hmm make sure that every cable going in and out to be in place.i see that you are using Vista Ultimate.try another connection without the router because in vista its an bug that its killing your internet connection.i also use vista and i had this problem.

Post the numbers in the exact format that your ISP gave you.
The problem can be caused by a few things: 1. Your Router has MAC Filter enabled 2. Your ISP uses Static IP 3. Your NIC driver isn't installed or installed incorrectly for Vista 4. Both your modem & router are trying to assign an IP to your PC Open your Router's User Interface using the browser. In the address bar type in the IP address of your particular router, it's usually 192.168.0.1 and it should look like this in your address bar: htt://192.168.0.1/ But if you can't access the router then it means the MAC Filter is on and you have to log on the router from another enabled PC to add your new PC's MAC Address into it.

I vote that it's a MAC filter on the modem.
