Hi All,
__________________I have the following 2Wire DSL modem with built in 4 port and wireless capabilities SMC2804wbr wireless router I have the 2Wire in the basement hooked up to 2 pc's and a ps3 via cat6 cable. I want to use the SCM on the 2nd floor to hook up a DELL printer (has a built in NIC) and a laptop. I don't have a way to run a cable from the basement to the 2nd floor. the 2Wire currently is working fine and has an encryption for the wireless connection. i did the following steps already and no luck This article applies to SMC7004AWBR, SMC7004VWBR, SMC2404WBR, SMC2804WBR and SMC2804WBR-PG 1. Connect a Computer to the Router (preferably use LAN to connect) 2. Logon to the SMC Router and Disable the DHCP under the LAN Settings. 3. Change the LAN IP address to be in the same range as the main Router. For e.g., if you use another SMC Router as main Router with IP as 192.168.2.1, then change this Wireless Router to be 192.168.2.2. This would ensure you to manage the Wireless Router without any problem. 4. Connect this Wireless Router with the Main Router using LAN ports. Check if the LED for the LAN port connected to the Main Router is lit, if not try with a Cross over cable. Thanks !
