usually, theres no way of speeding up your conection. and its pretty fast as it is right now its at 91% of what it should be which is great. most people get around 85% or so. anyways, you could try using "free download manager" or something similar. they search for mirror sites so you can download the same thing from different places at once so itll be easier to max your conection.

You can't just magically make your download speed faster. It depends on two things.

1. What speed you are paying for

2. The server you're downloading from

Say you're downloading a file from a website. Chances are they might limit your download rate to 100kbs to save bandwidth. You can only download as fast as the server will let you.

As 'gobalr' said, you cannot speed up your connection and it is better to use a download manager program such as 'GetRight' I used to use that and it was very good.

Also, you could you BitComet which could also be used for direct download and keeps track of what you have.

thats the whole point of download managers. say they limit your connection to 100kbps. what the download managers do is connect to the server like 8 times and then your new "limit" would be 800kbps.

question - did you test you connection with speedtest.net or are you just looking at various download times from different servers? more times than not, the download time from a server is a function of their connection - not yours. try speedtest.net to see what your really pulling down. do it at different times of the day so you have an idea of an average download/upload speed.

not usually. Make sure there aren't any programs or programs on other computers accessing the web and use a DL manager. I use Download Accelorator Plus and my DLs DL @ the speed of my bandwidth often.
