Default Recommend me a Wireless Router

I am currently in the market for a Wireless Router that doesn't need much range (one floor). I want something cheap but that still gets the job done

What do you pros recommend?

I would say get a Buffalo, if you can find one. Thanks to the Commonwealth Scientific Research and Industrial Organization's BS lawsuit you can't buy one new.

well you should limit your search to D-link, or Linksys. i get a great wireless connection on my laptop from Linksys if i move near my window.

Go with Linksys they are backed by CISCO. If you can find a WRG54G v1-v5 you can flash the firmware with DDWRT http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php...D-WRT_Docu_(EN)
With DDWRT you can up the power output and do all kinds of things with it!

Yeah defiantly get one that you can flash...

I have the linksys Soulbane just mentioned, with the modded fimware (linux based kernal) you can boost range, signal, remote boot/lock...its nuts

And as said before the buffalo routers, are also really good, and were completely modable too

linksys routers are definitely the way to go for their support and I think longer warranty. I recently just got a new N router after my netgear super g 108mbps was acting up.

It's a WRT330N gaming router and it's really fast and haven't had any trouble with it at all!

i would recommend linksys as well. used a few over the years now and never had problems with them. plus you can load different firmwares on them which i haven't done yet.

wrt54gl (linux version)
flash with dd-wrt and you have your self a $45 router that acts like a $600 router. enuff said

I am running the linksys on in a 4 story building with 18 tenants about 7 out of 18 on any given time go online at same time and does a great job routing each comp. ( I left the router on top of floor 2 for middle placement) going on day 76 as we speak and didn't even have to reset.

its kinda hard to find version 1-5 these days unless you try on ebay...currently on version 8.
But if you go with the linux open source version you will be glad you did. Its just like the version 4
