This is just out there, but maybe you can filter ports for different MAC addresses. So like the p2p ports your MAC address wouldn't be filtered but theirs would be.

edit: I forgot to mention, don't let your ISP know your doing this BTW, lol. I don't think they would be too happy about it.

I recommend WireShark, as it is easy to use, and gives a nice GUI, pretty flexible also. As stated before, you'll probably want to set up a Linux box for it, though it is also made for windows. I just think having a dedicated box might be useful.

Get this router:

install/flash firmware to DD-WRT (google it). It has some useful features, like giving you more bandwith over sharers (QOS priority), raise broadcast strength, and better priority. You can also set it to block certain programs (P2P) by protocol.
