Got home for the summer n set up the desktop and wireless is BLOWing away.... One seccond Full signal/speed, next thing I know my download cuts to 200kbps....

Im running a basic D-link WBR1310 G router, nothin special, got it for free....

I need to figure out a way to isolate this... would Draft-N help at all? I have a wireless N card that I can use!

I know I also have this cool electro lamp that does crazy things when you touch it - I turned this on, my internet dropped all together untill I turned it off.... freakin retarded man....

Draft N would help, but if that lamp is stopping your wireless now it will probably stop N as well.You should get better range & network speed from N. Wireless doesn't do well with EMI .

CRAP! Then Draft N wont fix my interference either, will it? The interference makes my signal plummit and the connectivity speed drops to like 2 mbits

Try changing the channel, I heard that usually fixes the problem.

Default is channel 11, try some other ones.

Make sure the frequency isn't too close to 2.4Ghz also, if you have wireless phones. (I did that once )

Keep the router up high and away form things like cell & wireless phones. Do not let anything block it.

*** HOW COULD I FORGET! My router is ON 2.4GHZ MODE while I was talking on my cell.........

How do I change freq.?
Not possible (high and unblocked) my dad keeps hiding it under the desk because he does not like all the wires showing n what not... Its in a cabinet somewhere....However I get full strength signals at like 2am... but during the day it spikes down alot

Don't use N. It gets worse when you go further away from the router. Like the signal drops.
