Is this for laptop or for PC adapter? I am not sure if this helps, but I have purchased 2 different adapters and card for PC and couldn't get them to work right. I think they were for Verizon if it matters.
If it is for a lappy, not sure what the best is. GL

PCMCIA is only available in laptops i believe, so yes it is a laptop. Acer Aspire 5040, nice thing for the price (way back when anyways.) Running Vista in case there may be drivers to worry about.

Proxim's Orinoco cards offer very good reception quality but if you're worried about compatibility with Vista you may be better off going for a card with a generic chipset such as one manufactured by RaLink. Belkin and Linksys both use RaLink chipsets in their wireless adapters.
