try going into the command prompt when your connected...type ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew
it will renew your ip.. if that doesn't work what type of router (if any) are you using

Try the usual updating drivers/firmware,check your security setting, see if there is interference. How often does it cut off ?

Try assigning a static ip for your rig. It sounds like the two machines are conflicting.

Ok, I'm on Vista and have been for a while so bear with me.
Go to control panel, open your network settings. Then you should be able to select "manage network" or something similar. Once the window pops up with your particular network connection in it, right-click that connection and click properties. Under properties, highlight TCP/IPv4 (let me know what's in the window if there is no option for this) and select properties. When you get to the properties window, select "Use the following IP address" and insert these numbers: IP Adress: 192.168.1.103 Subnet mask: 225.225.225.0 Default gateway: 192.168.1.1 Also change the DNS server numbers to: Preferred: 192.168.1.1 Alternate: 4.2.2.2 Click ok and you're done.
