Default Is Gigabit worth it?

Is gigabit lan really worth it for me to spend $100+? I am mostly going to do LAN gaming and sometimes filetransfers (but not too often).

NO, gigabit lan is not worth it.

How aten do you really think you will need that bandwidth?
and it is a lag on the CPU, it is dependant on collissions which allows it to reach those speeds. your CPU has to work extra processes to analyze the echoes for the incoming signal.

I have the DGL-4300 by DLink.. I love it but I do hugh transfers of video for rendering. And as a lan party the transfers are small but there is many of there more ment for 100BaseT less colisions

Nope, for what you're doing with your internet its not worth it all at, i'd say if u had a network of 10 computers or something it'd be worth it, or for a company then of course it'd be worth it

but for smaller personal use, nope not at all

and u need full-duplex cabling too not just a router, u need cat6 (catergory 6) cabling to get its full usage..full duplex means 4 wires inbound data, 4 wires outbound data

our internets just use 4 wires.. not 8, even though all 8 are there
