Default Upgraded service

I upgraded my bellsouth DSL to the fastest (6mbit down, 512kbit up) from the next lower (3mbit down, 384kbit up). How long should I have to wait until they upgrade it?

A week at most.

Though it probably will depend on the area of where you live, how far/close you are to them or the box for routing, etc.

For example, Time Warner Cable has been advertising 10 Mb down speed recently, I continued to do speedtest to figure out if it had been updated recently, just yesterday, I noticed that I had 10.

Took about a week and a half. Maybe less.

Comcast randomly upgraded my upload speed from 368kBps to 1000kBps for free, along with enabling powerboost for my upload rate.

That raised my liking of them from bitter hate to mild dislike.

This is all handled by the server on your ISPs end. Since most changes don't go live in the computer system until COB for the day (midnight), when all changes go into the system, it backs itself up, and probably restarts. So, i'd guess the upgrade will go through by the next day.

That's crazy with all the ISPs here it takes nothing more than them to change it at the call center then I just restart the modem.

Done, I have faster/different service.

Upgrade to Wireless N (all devices) if you wanna close the gap.
