Default I just got spammed in a big way
That was wierd. Opened outlook with my home e-mail address (supplied by my internet carrier) and got 900 e-mails in one shot.

Most of them were post master delivery failure or some variant. click link below to resolve

a bunch were even no e-mail address, no subject.

Sounds like you should run a good virus program to clean or better yet backup your data...format and reinstall your os(kills the registery problems).

no, old school outlook 6. my xp is fully up to date though and I'm running virus check and spybot right now as well as backing up important stuff.

Someone was using your email address (or sever) to send out spam. You are getting all of the return messages for the addresses that are bad. If this continues you certainly have a virus/trojan somewhere.

i noticed on spybot that it gave an error during tests about trojans

Yes, more than likely, your email address got on a 'list' of sorts. Probably a breech at a site you signed up at where you used your ISP email addy.

If you'd like to block network traffic until you isolate the cause of the issue PeerGuardian is great. It'll only allow through traffic you explicitly specify as OK and will also allow you to view in real time sources and destinations of all network traffic.

Its entirely possible you have no virus at all, but were simply Backscattered . Very annoying, but harmless.
