My desktop connected with our company server through a static ip adress.
I wont to share this connection with my laptop so I think to use a router.

Is it possible to do that? If yes, how?

If you connect your laptop using the ethernet cable(LAN networking), the router will automatically assign the ip address.

Edit: If the network is protected with WEP or something, you'll need to know the network password.

i have a static ip and it looks like this

Wrong. If the network is connected to the internet via a server it's almost certain that the server is setup to run DHCP. If you put a router after the server and it's not properly configured (you'd need DD-WRT or a corporate router to configure it properly) you'll mess the whole network up because the rotuer will subnet everything connected to it. The simplest solution (if the desktop has 2 ethernet ports) is to cable the laptop to the PC, enable internet connection sharing, and bridge both ethernet ports. The other option would be to connct the router first (router> pc + server + laptop) but this will probably be a huge downgrade to the networks security.

to give you a good solid answer on how to get the laptop online i really need more info. Are you the network admin, is this some tiny private company with a tiny network, or a big company, what kind of security are they using, etc etc etc.

You have asked an extremely broad question. You need to give more information. I barely understand exactly what you are needing. It sounds like you have a server configured as your "router". And it is sharing its connection with the rest of the network. If that is the case it may not be a very easy task at all to reconfigure your server and introduce a router, depending on the services your server is providing the network.

But really Im just guessing at what your problem might be.

I agree. I thought he was speaking of 2 computers sharing 1 IP address.

2 computers with different IP's can share 1 external IP

2 computers on the same network, subnet, cannot share 1 IP, they'd conflict.
