Hey, I just got back home and setup my PC, the router being on the right of the case...
Now I cant get internet speeds on my granddad's pc that uses a 'USB netgear wireless adapter'. It used to be working fine before I installed the case, a few websites open now and then, but they're slow, and outlook doesn't work at all, just downloads like 200kb's and gives an error. This just happened after I put up my case... was working fine, even doesn't work when I dc my PC from the router. The wireless speed's start up good in the beginning, like 35-50Mbps, but then go down to like 1 or 2 Mbps. Any Ideas? Thanks *apologies for the haphazard explanation* Heres a pic of my setup. ![]()

Might be interference. Try switching the router's broadcast channel to something other than the default... what router is it?

Try re-installing the wireless drivers.

Nahhh.... its because router's cannot operate at such close range. They were never meant to work so close.
at that distance can't you just run ethernet cable instead of wireless??

I also see you have a cordless phone RIGHT next to the router..
Wireless runs typically 2.4ghz ranges and so do most older cordless phones. I have a 2.4ghz phone and each and everytime some one uses it it disconnects my wireless connections. Just a sugguestion as I've had this problem for awhile now and it's quickly overlooked. Just FYI but if your phone range > 2.4ghz then you should be fine ![]()

I have no issue running my wireless laptop no more than 1 foot from my wireless router on my desk. It's a laptop so I roam the house but routinely go to my desk, where the modem and router are, and have NO ISSUES connecting.. I think your statement is very incorrect.

The main one is a D-link, the second Linksis one is connected to the VOIP, two are being used because my granddad didn't know have the isp info on hand, so he couldn't configure the isp setting on the new router.
The phone is a VOIP, connected to the linksys router, and it has a cordless handset too that works on 5.4ghz.

This just happened after I put my case next to them, I tried messing with the router settings, still the same, when I connect to the wireless network, the speeds start off good at first, but then drop back down to 1-2 Mbps, and outlook cant download email's anymore...

Don't have any other electrical objects (computers, monitors, other routers, wireless phones, speakers, printers, etc) next to the wireless network router.
Also try and position it in a high area, like ontop of a bookshelf.
