Default Wireless Router Failing?

Okay, so I have two WRT54G routers on the same floor. They are both running DD-WRT v24 micro. The one is sending signals to my room while the one in my room is receiving them for my computer and 360. Just recently the internet connection/LAN connection from my end (the receiving router) has become very poor (ping from google went from 30-40 to 200+). Laptops connecting to the other router wirelessly or through ethernet cable have a perfect connection. The signal strength between the two routers is always 40%+ like it has always been before this Internet issue. Any ideas? I'm not open to a wireless card for my pc because that would mean I'd need a way for my 360 to be hooked up and I'm not paying for that wireless adapter for the 360!
EDIT: It seems that I have my Internet connection back on my router. However, I did nothing to contribute to this success. I wish it would have done that 20 minutes ago...

checked to make sure the router isn't overheating??? most common reason for problems with them. Also pings will start to suffer after long periods of uptime, rebooted it lately?

Also, make sure you put both WRT54Gs in different channels, and that you're not using the default ones. If you go to the router's setup page, in the wireless setup section, you can change the broadcast channel for each.
