Hello again everyone, I was wondering if there is a simple way to transfer a large file between 2 PC's that are connected to the same router?

Just drag and drop or copy and paste the file between those two computers. Aslong as they are in a LAN, it should be fine.
If you are going through an FTP/HTTP server, then find a FTP or HTTP client that supports resumed downloads. To be able to do that, you need to have the files shared/have computers sharing enabled. (That depends on OS and other things) Then you would go to network neighborhood and find the computer you want the file from. Then drag and drop or copy and paste the file from the folder, to the designated folder you want it to on the current computer you are on.

First of all, they need to be reconized by each other. Thats the hard part (i think). Once they see eachother, it's simple drag and drop from My Computer.

You would enable sharing:
Right Click > Sharing and Security > enable In Vista, enable all the options in the Network Center Connections applet. Technet Description on how to File Share.

You could just map a network drive right click My Computer>Select Map network drive,do this on both computers, then just store and transfer from there or just share them.

If from what I understand, he doesn't have them in Network neighborhood yet. That Technet link will help him get there and then he can do all this other stuff.

Does it matter that one has Vista and the other XP? I cant get mine to pick up the one running XP, and I cant use a patch cable since they are on the other side of the house from each other lol >.<
