Forget the cable modem. Is there any way i can use the Dlink????(Its a telephone based router, not one that has multiple ethernet ports on it), like as i said i have another connection which is far away from where i am right now. Can i remotely use that connection without a telephone line??

Lolzz i just found another couple of routers lying inside inside my closet. Can i sell them???...As they're of no use!

This thread is so silly. If the first router (DLINK ADSL) has only one ethernet port, of course you can't use it with your cable modem.

Also, if you just found other routers, then go figure out if they have WAN/LAN ports and get one working and be done with it.
