Interference could possibly be the cause, such as phones, microwave, crowded channel etc.Do you have the latest drivers for your adapter ?

I would try the wireless in different locations, iron supports in walls can sometimes cause problems. As was said, microwaves, cordless phones (not mobiles, they dont push sufficient wattage). If you can move the wireless antenna, put it on the other side of your pc, if it is a PCI slot, buy a cheap tv antenna and hook that up to the PCI card.

Do you live in an apartment block? Semi-detached? Detached?
__________________These issues can be totally random, and dropping would usually either be a problem with the router, or your wireless card. If its not either of these, then its a good chance somebody is doing somthing that your signals dont agree with. Update the drivers? You could also try a different channel for your wireless network.
